Yaowalen
"Yaowalen" pioneers creative events in Chinatown Bangkok as part of Bangkok Design Week 2023, highlighting cultural inclusivity and coexistence with a theatrical walking tour, a Chinese opera, an outdoor screening, and a street performance.
Yaowarat (Chinatown, Bangkok), a main artery of Bangkok's trading district since the 1800s, home to several Chinese opera theatres and standalone cinemas in the past, is now turned into a parking lot and new building, leaving some heritage and old traditions behind.

We intended to retell these stories, the so-called "heritage" unknown to most newer generations, through the concept of performance-based creative events. "Yaowalen" Integrates heritage and modern design to conserve Chinatown's rich cultures while promote new ways of life and also create new opportunity for the people in Chinatown.
